[trigger warning: discussion of rape and violence]
Artemisia Gentileschi is an amazing historical figure. A survivor who endured torture and humiliation when she tried to convict the man who raped her, she is famous for her beautifully rendered paintings of defiant women enacting violence upon men. Above are Judith Slaying Holofernes, Judith and Maidservant, and Jael and Sisera. It is rumored that Judith Beheading Holofernes is a self-portrait, in which Judith was painted in Gentileschi’s likeness and Holofernes was modeled after her rapist.See also Judith and her Maidservant by Artemisia Gentileschi

DëⒶth Chürch: Just a friendly reminder: If you like someone's designs/art/etc... support them. Don't rip them off.
(fyi, this is not about my distro but I hope that people don’t rip my shit off)
I’m all for fucking over businesses and ignoring copyright, but if an individual with legit politics makes awesome patches, shirts, or other things that you like, support them! Don’t rip them off or fuck them over. We’re all struggling to survive under the umbrella of capitalism, and until it’s gone.. (cross your fingers) don’t be a jerk to those who deserve much better than that.
Support the people and the things you like if you have the means instead of taking the food out of their mouths. I know that in my case, I’m super fucking poor and my distro is my second job. It helps me survive and I know that it does the same for other folks.
When it comes to my distro, if you like something and you don’t have the scrilla, I’m always into trades. Talk to people about working something out if you really can’t afford it!
(I will reiterate that I’m so down for people bootlegging shit sold by actual businesses. Steal away, my friends.)

“The Girl With 7 Horses”
“Once upon a time there was a girl who had 7 invisible horses. People thought she was crazy and that she in fact had 7 imaginative horses, but this was not the case. When autumn came the girl spent a whole day washing all her clothes. She hung them on a string in her garden to let the gentle autumn sun dry them. Out of nowhere, a terrible storm came and its fiercefull winds grabbed a hold of all her clothes and all seven horses (authors note: since they are invisible they obviously didn’t weigh much). The girl was devistated and spent all autumn looking for each horse spread around the country, wrapped in her clothes.”

So this is one of the pieces I went to see while in Philadelphia. They pull prints from the walls of buildings set to be demolished, Philagrafika brought them to the U.S. to do this project at Holmesburg prison. This location was especially appropriate as Holmesburg prisoners were used as test subjects for dermatological, pharmaceutical, and biochemical weapons research projects.
There is a nice article on printeresting if you want to learn more about it!
